For more than 40 years, Ron has served in a variety of roles in public education, including teacher, principal, special education director, professor and chief executive officer of one of the nation’s premiere education service agencies. He also served as an executive council member for the Association of Educational Service Agencies and charter president of the organization’s national foundation.

Ron specializes in facilitating strategic planning, leadership development and conflict resolution activities and has fulfilled this role with more than 100 schools, associations, churches, corporations, non-profit organizations and communities. In his 33 years as chief executive of two education service agencies, Ron provided support and training to numerous agency leaders, school superintendents and boards.

In addition to his role with Don Stevens + Associates, Ron recently retired as a professor at the University of Iowa, Iowa City where he lead the superintendent preparation program. He recently completed a term on the governing board of the American Association of School Administrators.

Ron earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Special Education, and master’s degree in Educational Administration, from Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kan. He earned a doctorate in Education Administration from Kansas State University.
